Residential lease lots
The Real Estate Management Bureau leases residential lease lots throughout Montana including many on several lakes and rivers including Echo Lake, Flathead Lake, Rogers Lake, the Clearwater River Outlet adjacent to Seeley Lake, the Blackfoot River, and other water-front and non-water front locations. When residential lease lots become available for lease they are posted on the website, www.dnrc.mt.gov/cabinsite.
Commercial Leasing
Trust lands offer unique opportunities for commercial development. Some of the most suitable properties for commercial purposes are associated with expanding urban areas and along highway frontages. Quality commercial properties are now available in Kalispell, Missoula, Great Falls, Belgrade, Bozeman, and Billings. These locations allow a range of development opportunities, including industrial, retail commercial, and office. Some rural commercial opportunities are also possible.
Commercial opportunities on school trust lands are normally identified in conjunction with a community's growth policy (master plan, comprehensive plan). Other opportunities are pursued on an as-identified basis, wherein DNRC or the proponent would pursue the appropriate planning and zoning approvals through the local government review process.
