Abandoned mines, degraded roadways and unhealthy forests pose a growing threat to the lands and waters Montanans cherish. Restoring damaged landscapes creates new opportunities for businesses, healthy animal and plant communities and a safer environment. And restoration work means employment — good jobs in a variety of fields — for Montanans with the right training and education.
Filling a Void: Growing Montana’s Restoration Workforce is a one-day workshop designed to identify the training and educational opportunities Montana students, workers and professionals need to succeed in the restoration economy. Panelists will discuss current and future restoration project needs, and examine how training programs, school curricula and courses can prepare workers to compete for restoration jobs.
