Administrative Rules
Pursuant to statute, DNRC maintains a list of "interested persons" who are notified when the department proposes to amend or adopt its administrative rules. If you would like you or your organization to be on this list, please contact Lucy Richards, ARM Coordinator. Please provide your name, e-mail address, physical address, and the topics you wish to be notified of: conservation districts and resource development, forestry, oil and gas conservation, trust land management, and/or water resources.

Preliminary Injunction - On April 5, 2012, the Montana First Judicial District Court issued a preliminary injunction preventing the state of Montana from implementing any of the terms of Senate Bill 409, which includes prohibiting the Land Board or the DNRC from applying any rules or regulations adopted to implement Senate Bill 409.

Oil and Gas Lease Sale Notices
NOTICE OF STATE OF MONTANA OIL & GAS LEASE SALE. The Department of Natural Resources and Conservation will hold an oil and gas lease sale at 9:00 a.m., June 5, 2012 in the Dept. of Transportation Auditorium, 2701 Prospect Ave, Helena, MT. The June sale includes 187 tracts in the following counties: Blaine (2), Cascade (50), Daniels (1), Lewis and Clark (82), Liberty (1), Sheridan (3), Teton (7), and Valley (41). All sales will be by competitive oral bidding. A description of tracts and maps are available on the DNRC website.

Perry Squeezer Permit Proposal (May 8, 2012)
The DNRC, Swan River State Forest, is proposing Perry Squeezer Permit Proposal (612 Commercial Timber Permit Application). This proposed project would selectively harvest trees using uneven-aged management techniques such as single-tree selection or group selection. The objective of the project is to harvest trees infected by various disease organisms or at high risk for insect and disease infestations and thin other trees based on factors such as density, age, individual tree health, and vigor. This document will provide a general overview of this proposed harvest permits.

Heyer's Gulch Proposed Timber Sale Scoping Notice (April 16, 2012)
The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) is considering timber management activities in Section 16, T13N, R17W. The objective of the proposed timber sale would be to generate revenue for the Common School Trust Accounts. Timber would be harvested in a manner designed to facilitate a sustainable yield of timber products.
